Interrupted Downloads
If your Internet connection isn't stable then try using a download utility such as GetRight, Download Accelerator or iGetter (Power Macintosh and Mac OS X) which have free trial versions available. These utilities are especially good if you are using a dial up connection and will will let you manage your downloads, resume broken downloads, and speed up download time. Alternatively, try downloading from the official Adobe website.
Corrupted Installer
If you try to install Adobe Reader and you receive an error message that tells you the file is corrupted then it is likely that the file was corrupted during the download process. Corrupted installers are generally the result of an interrupted Internet connect during the download process. Please try to download the installer again out of peak office hours and when you know your Internet connection will not be interrupted.
Can you email Adobe Reader to me?

Installing a new version of Adobe Reader
If you are installing a new version of Adobe Reader then you *must* uninstall any previously installed versions of Adobe Reader from your computer.
Windows. Uninstall Adobe Reader from your Windows computer by going to My Computer > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Select the software you would like to uninstall and click 'Remove'.
Macintosh. Uninstall Adobe Reader from your Macintish computer by selecting that applications folder and dragging it into the trash bin.
When I install Adobe Reader, I receive Error 1714: "The older version of Adobe Reader cannot be removed."
Damaged or corrupted Windows Installer files can cause problems when trying to load software. If Add/Remove Programs doesn't help you then you should look to the Windows Support Tool Windows Installer CleanUp Utility for more assistance. This removes the folders, files, registry keys and entries from your PC that are put there when an application is installed using Windows Installer. The utility provides you with a simple dialog window to help you identify the problem application.

Where's Adobe Acrobat Reader gone?
Adobe Reader was previously called Adobe Acrobat Reader, this changed when version 6.0 of the software was released at that time Adobe Systems elected to change the name of their free PDF viewer to Adobe Reader.
