ARTS Split Pro COM Object. The ARTS PDF Split Pro COM object allows developers to easily incorporate the splitting power of ARTS PDF Split Pro within your own applications and workflows. The COM object can be used with any scripting languages that support COM such Visual Basic, Delphi, ASP and PHP. Split methods that are available are:

• SplitByBookmarks - Splits a PDF file by bookmark levels.
• SplitByControlFile - Splits a PDF file by control file.
• SplitByCoordFile - Splits a PDF file by coordinate file.

Split by Control File. This method allows you to pre-define the page ranges and filenames for the resulting fragments.

Split by Bookmarks. This method allows you to split a PDF file based on the bookmarks it contains. Each page that is bookmarked becomes the start of a new fragment, and the title of the bookmark is used to name the resultant fragment. The subsequent pages without bookmarks that follow each split are added to the fragment until the next page that contains a bookmark appears -- at which time the next fragment is created. The level of bookmarks to use can also be defined with the top-level bookmarks being level 1.

Watched Folders. Use watched folders to automate your splitting. ARTS PDF Split Pro’s watched folders allow an automated splitting process to be created and can be accessible from a desktop or across a whole network. You specify the folders you want 'watched' and any PDF files placed in them will be processed according to your settings.

The Watched Folders function can also be used in conjunction with Control Files and Coordinate Files, allowing a fully automated, intelligent server-side splitting solution.
