 Make your mark on a grand scale

OK, here's one that we get quite a bit: you want to mark large volumes of PDFs with stamps or watermarks. Acrobat is a fantastic tool for image-based stamps. Not only does it already includes a number of common configurations out of the box, it also offers a simple and intuitive interface for creating your own custom stamps. While this is fine for individual stamps or documents, what do you do when you need to stamp hundreds or thousands of pages and documents?
It could be something as simple as placing a prominent "Confidential" label on each page, applying page numbers, or the more specialized Bates numbering. In any of these cases, where you are dealing with rules-based stamping as opposed to single stamps, Acrobat can use a helping hand. One tool that allows all of these is ARTS PDF Aerialist Professional. Another option would be PDF Snake from Rennie Glen Software, which also supports various stamping options. If you aren't sure which you prefer, just download the free trial versions and give them a test run.
